A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I was born the oldest of three boys and raised in Hanford,
California. I went to grade school at Hanford
Christian School and high school at Hanford High School. My college years were spent at a local
community college, then a year and a half at CSU Humboldt, and after I decided
I wanted to be a teacher, I finished up and graduated from Calvin College in
Grand Rapids, Michigan. I came to teach
at Calvin Christian in 1977 and taught a 4th and 5th
grade combination class. Since then
I’ve mostly taught only 4th grade, but I had a few years where I
taught a 3rd and 4th combination class.
In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, and going to San Diego for
theater and restaurants. I also serve
as an elder and help out with worship media at Crossroads Christian Reformed
Church. That takes up much of my free
time, but I enjoy it.
One of my favorite passages of scripture is from Colossians
1:28-29. I use this verse as an
inspiration for my teaching.
“We
proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may
present everyone perfect in Christ. To
this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in
me.”
I’m looking forward to a great year full of new friendships and
blessings. See you at school!.
