Archaeology

God revealed His Majesty and power in the story of creation and establishes His perfect intentions for humans. The riches of God’s majesty and design are seen as Adam And Eve are placed in the garden. Adam and Eve are the first to inherit the perfect gifts God created.

However, because of sin, our relationship as heirs of God was severed. Our earthly nature is now drawn toward the temporal, where there is impurity, immorality, greed, and malice. Man’s sin has caused brokenness in man’s relationship to God and God’s creation.

But, God has called us out of darkness into His wonderful light. God has “spoken to us by His Son whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. (Hebrews 1:2) We rejoice as sons of God through Christ. Since we belong to Christ, we have an inheritance in the eternal kingdom of God. Eternal inheritance requires God’s heirs to promote an understanding of our past material culture so we have a stronger appreciation for humanity and its diverse heritage

Look around you! See the artifacts left behind by generations that have gone before you. In this course, we will look at the concrete evidence of what cultures before us have left behind, to show that our world is not to be viewed as a separate entity. God’s world is the sum of interconnecting parts that includes people, values, languages, and faith. Our inheritance is both temporal and eternal

Too often throughout history, an ethnic group has clung to its own belief and cultural system without regard for the rest of humanity, As an educator, I can be proactive to help your student see the joy and blessing in diversity as it relates to the spiritual, historical, and cultural legacy our ancestors left behind.

Understanding each other’s cultures is a necessity so children can become active citizens in the global community. Justice involves understand how God is the Father to all peoples. “Blessed is the nation who’s God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance (Psalm 33:12)”. Because archaeology is built on the broad concept of culture, it offers the perfect venue to help students understand the inheritance of riches we have when we understand the artifacts left by ancestors from the past. Through archaeology students will understand the inheritance that races, nations, cultures, and creeds have enriched our lives. We are, indeed, heirs of the Creator and the creation.
