As the ‘08 school year starts, I begin my twenty-second year of
teaching. My husband, Jeff, is the
Senior Property Manager of The Irvine Company in La Jolla. We have four children. Our oldest, Ben, is a critical care
cardiac nurse at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and teaches clinical labs at
Luther College. Ben is engaged to
Samantha Meyer who also works at Mayo Clinic. Elizabeth is in her third year teaching Science and Social
Studies to Junior High students at Lake Worth Christian School in Lake Worth,
FL. In July, Steve married Melissa
Bons, moved to Sioux Center, Iowa and is now Admissions Counselor at Dordt
College. Our daughter-in-law is a
junior education major at Dordt. Keith
just began his first year teaching PE at Phoenix Christian School in Phoenix,
Arizona. Our family photo from Steve’s
wedding is pictured below.
In
my spare time you can find me reading, working out at the YMCA, or following
the Padres and Chargers. I also enjoy
traveling to see our children who are in MN, IA, FL and AZ. My husband and I are looking forward to an
empty nest as our international daughters graduated from Calvin Christian
School last spring.
