Mr. Steidl’s Newsletter – October 2006
Teaching PE - Getting back into the classroom has been a joy for me…even though it takes away from the time I have to deal with school issues. Mr. Kok and I are team-teaching so two days a week, usually Monday and Thursday, I am not in the office from 8:50 to 10:15. If you are coming by to see me you should avoid those times.
School Atmosphere - The school year has gone very well. Students are busy with their studies, active in extra-curriculars, and finding opportunities to grow spiritually. A student Bible study time at lunch once every two weeks called “Power lunch” is happening.
International students - Three students joined us from overseas (one from Japan and two from Korea) and have quickly become a positive part of our community.
K12 Planet - Be patient with us as we work at debugging this new technology. It is a great source of information on students’ progress, however each class will vary as to how recent the information has been posted.
Grades - The end of the quarter is Friday, November 3. During the next week we will compile and check grades and hand report cards out to students on Wednesday, November 8, in order for parents to have them before Parent-Teacher conferences on Thursday and Friday.
Eligibility - A new policy this year is that we are evaluating students for eligibility to participate in extra-curricular activities.
