OVERVIEW |
|
Parents are
the lifeblood of Calvin Christian
School. Whether they're
volunteering for lunch duty, organizing
a fundraiser, or regularly praying for
the school, parents play a vital role as
members of the Calvin Christian
community.
The purpose
of this section of the website is to
assist parents in serving and being
served through the Calvin Christian
community. Here you'll find
information about the various support
groups at Calvin, volunteer
opportunities, events for parents, and
ways to support Calvin financially.
Calvin
Christian's three major financial
support groups are the Mother's Club,
Athletic Boosters' Club, and Music
Boosters' Club. These three groups
raise significant monies and provide
valuable services to Calvin.
Without their work we would need to
raise tuition substantially in order to
finance what they provide. |

Parent
Service Requirement: |
In order to
ensure that the needs of Calvin
Christian School are met each year, we
have implemented a Parental Service
Requirement policy. Each Calvin
Christian family is required to perform
10 hours of service to the school each
year.
This policy was implemented for several
reasons:
Parental
involvement helps to develop a sense of
community within the school.
Calvin
Christian and its vital support groups
have difficulty recruiting sufficient
volunteers to serve the needs of the
school.
Volunteering
helps to keep tuition costs more
affordable.
As parents
meet this requirement, they are setting
an example for their children regarding
the importance of service to others. It
encourages adults and students to
embrace the vision that service is an
important part of the Christian life.

Emergency Information: |
|
Calvin
Christian School has a comprehensive
emergency plan in place. The plan comes
from a master plan put together by a
variety of educators, police and fire
department leaders, and counselors. The
basic outline for the plan is used
internationally and has been adapted to
fit Calvin Christian.
