Axis Event - October 2

Calvin Christian School is proud to bring a live event staff from Axis to provide direction, tools and resources to those that work with, parent and love young people. Join us on Tuesday, October 2 for two FREE events that are open to the entire community.

The mission of Axis is to empower the next generation to think clearly and critically about what they believe and to take ownership of their faith. We do this not by outsourcing parents, but by resourcing them to disciple and transfer legacy to their children as they face life’s questions and challenges. We also support faith leaders in churches and schools by providing content and facilitators who effectively introduce and address life’s toughest topics.

The Christian Leadership Breakfast is a special event just for those who are in leadership in our local Christian schools and churches. The event staff from Axis has prepared a relevant talk called Sex, Drugs, College, and Jesus. Discipleship is a necessary thing in the lives of young people, but who is really discipling them? In this parent/teacher presentation, we look at how pop culture, media, and society are subversively influencing younger generations toward unbiblical and destructive views of these topics. We will also discuss what Jesus has to say about each of these controversial topics, as well as how to move discipleship away from the control of media and back to the family and church.

We ask that Christian leaders RSVP for this event to ensure we have an accurate count for breakfast.

The Axis event staff will present a talk for parents, or anyone that interacts with young people, in a free evening event. Join us at 6:30 p.m. on October 2, in the Heritage Center for a conversation on technology.

ALONE TOGETHER: We live in a world saturated with technology. Technology itself isn't bad, but, like everything else, it can be used for evil and destruction. Students need parents and faith leaders to lovingly teach them how to use technology with wisdom. In this session, we will examine the leading technologies that are discipling the next generation. We will see how they have revolutionized the world and offer incredibly practical steps for how to use them with wisdom.
