Monday, March 27th

o        Continental Flight leaves San Diego 8 AM

o        Arrives 4:11 PM at Newark New Jersey’s Liberty Airport

o        Doubletree Guest Suites Times Square, 1568 Broadway

o        Dinner: John’s Pizzeria

 

Tuesday, March 28th

o        Tour the United Nations Headquarters

o        Grand Central Station for lunch

o        Bryant Park

o        Shopping in SoHo

o        Dinner in Chinatown: Happy 16 Diner

o        8 PM Theatre: Doubt
Walter Kerr Theatre
219 West 48th Street (Broadway & 8th)

o        Ellen’s Stardust Diner for dessert (1650 Broadway)
 

Wednesday, March 29th

o        Take subway to Castle Clinton/Battery Park

o        Ferry to Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island

o         Federal Hall, 1st Capital of the United States (The First Congress met on this site, wrote the Bill of Rights, George Washington inaugurated as President on April 30, 1789)

o        Wall Street

o        Ground Zero

o        New York Stock Exchange

o        Century 21 (department store)

o        Lunch at downtown McDonald’s (with pianist)

o        Dinner: Lunella Ristorante (173 Mulberry Street, Little Italy)

o        8 PM Theatre: The Producers

      St. James Theatre

                  246 W. 44th St. (between 7th
            and 8th Ave)

 

Thursday, March 30th

o        Walk to Rockefeller Center

o         St. Patrick’s Cathedral (see the Roman Catholic Archbishop of New York, Edward M. Egan)

o        ½ go shopping along Fifth Avenue; ½ go to the Sony Wonder Technology Lab

o        Street lunch in Central Park

o        3 hour cruise around Manhattan Island

o        Dinner: Uncle Nick’s Greek Cuisine, Hell’s Kitchen (747 Ninth Avenue). Mike Walters joins us for dinner.

Friday, March 31st

o        Walk to the Empire State Building; visit 86th floor observation deck

o        Shop in Macy’s Herald Square (10 floors: the biggest store in the world)

o        Subway to Brooklyn Heights

o        Lunch: Grimaldi’s Pizzeria “Under the Brooklyn Bridge,” DUMBO

o        Dessert: Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory

o        Walk the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan (along the way we meet actor, Sam Waterston)

o        Museum of Modern Art

 

o        Metropolitan Museum of Art

o        Dinner: Hard Rock Café Times Square (1501 Broadway)

 

Saturday, April 1st

o        Belvedere Castle, Central Park

o        American Museum of Natural History

o        Lunch: Zabar’s (Broadway and 80th) 

o        Return flight leaves Newark at 5:20 PM. We arrive back in San Diego at 8:14 PM.
