The
speaker at this year's high school mixer was Nick In't Hout, the
youth pastor at The River CRC in Redlands, CA. Nick graduated
from Calvin College in 2004 and has been doing youth ministry
ever since. He also teaches part-time at Redands Christian
Middle School. Nick challenged the students to think seriously
about their faith and whether or not they are "simply going
through the motions" or if they are taking Jesus Christ
seriously. He challenged all of us to take God at his word, to
trust Him, and to follow Him. Through small group discussions
and individual quiet time, the students reflected on what it
looks like to "live by faith." Additionally, the students were
led in worship by the Praise Band, a group of juniors and
seniors.
