Members of Calvin's Christian-in-Action club,
otherwise known as the CIA, are currently busy preparing for the
Project Angel Christmas party. The goal of Project Angel is to
share the reason we celebrate Christmas by giving a Christmas
party to some of the poorest children from Lincoln Elementary
School, located at 1029 N. Broadway in Escondido (just down the
street from Calvin Christian School).
Over 80 students from Calvin Christian Junior
High and High School have already volunteered to help with
Project Angel. Together the students have purchased and wrapped
a total of 80 gifts for the students from Lincoln. The students
at Lincoln filled out "gift cards" to let the students from
Calvin know what they wanted for Christmas. According to the
guidelines, the gifts should cost around $20 each. Some of the
gifts for this year's Project Angel Christmas party are shown in
the photo above.
On Wednesday, December 19, students from
Calvin will throw a Christmas party at Lincoln Elementary for
these students and their parents. The party will begin with a
skit of the Christmas story performed in Spanish. Christmas
songs will be sung, and snacks, drinks and crafts will be
provided. Finally, the gifts will be given.
The hope of the students from Calvin is that
they can help share God's love with the students from Lincoln,
just as God has shared his indescribable love with us all
through the gift of Jesus Christ!
