On Thursday, November 9, the eighth grade students at Calvin
Christian School had the opportunity to interview ten veterans
of World War II. Calvin Christian has invited veterans to visit
the school and relate some of their war experiences for the past
four years. Some veterans brought pictures, artifacts, and other
memorabilia to share with the students.
After interviewing the veterans, each student will write a
narrative using the veterans answers to their questions. The
students felt very grateful to have this opportunity. Many have
not had very much exposure to people who fought during World War
II, and they know that as the veterans age, there will be less
stories to hear and write about.
Calvin Christian hopes to continue this special day and thanks
the veterans who were willing to share their stories with its
students.
