Construction on Calvin Christian's elementary
campus is coming to a close this month, just in time for the
start of the 2006-2007 school year.
This summer's project focused on the
building of a new overhang on the northern inner courtyard, but
also included a new drainage system ,
the remodeling of the Elementary office, a safety fence on the
softball field, and numerous fresh coats of paint. The
overhang provides teachers and students with much-needed shelter
from both sun and rain while simultaneously improving the
overall aesthetic of the elementary campus.
Pete Vander Woude, maintenance supervisor
at Calvin, began construction in early June with the help of
several CCHS students. Crew members included: Brennan
Bales, Reuben Faber, Curtis Hoekstra, and Niko Schatz.
Funding for the project was made possible
by donations from last year's Fall Drive. |
