The Calvin Christian
High School Drama Department typically gives
three performances each school year: a Fall
Production, a Winter Dinner Theatre,
and a Spring Musical. CCHS also
offers an elective Drama course in its
curriculum, during which
students learn the fundamental principles of
acting while preparing for a small production at
the end of the semester. |
|
Fall Production |
Each
Fall at CCHS, seasoned actor and drama/science
teacher Dirk Jasperse directs a cast of students
in a theatre production. Students participate in late-summer
auditions, and the selected cast members work
rigorously at after-school rehearsals to prepare
for the late-October performances.
Young actors and actresses aren’t the only
students encouraged to participate in the Fall
Drama production. Set designers/builders,
costume shop organizers, make-up persons, and
ushers are also needed to make this production a
success.
E-mail Mr. Jasperse for more details. |

Spring Musical |
Combining
the creative talents of the entire Calvin
Christian community, the Spring Musical is truly
a top-notch production. With sets and costumes
that rival those of the big stages, the Spring
Musical serves as an annual testimony to the
abundant creativity and dedication within the
CCS community.
Each year, the musical is carefully chosen and
directed by veteran music teacher Ms. Vicki Van
Essen, with auditions taking place every winter.
Any and all students wishing to participate will
be included in the production, with several
“behind-the-scenes” positions available as well.
Whether you’re a stage hand, a trumpet player,
or a make-up assistant, you will serve a vital
role in this grand and entertaining production!
Please
contact Ms. Van Essen for more information.
