Students and staff are expected to meet high standards and to be active in the learning process. Students are encouraged to acquire knowledge, seek truth, and apply what they learn to every area of their lives. The goal of a Calvin Christian education is to prepare students to become independent learners with the necessary skills and motivation for learning and service. Every student is expected to demonstrate cognitive growth, Christian citizenship, creativity, communication skills, and the capacity for life-long learning.

Calvin Christian is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and provides a God-honoring, Christ-centered academic program for every student. All instruction is based on the infallible Word of God. By integrating academic standards, biblical principles, and sincere Christian staff, Calvin Christian provides a positive learning experience in a caring Christian environment. Teaching focuses on the whole child - academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Calvin Christian partners with parents in the education of students. Communication with the home is regular and convenient. In addition to contacting teachers via the typical means of phone calls and emails, parents can access grades, assignments, attendance, discipline, progress reports, and report cards through Crusader Connection, the online database.

Calvin Christian High School intentionally does not call itself a college prep school due to a commitment to serve, regardless of ability, all students from Christian homes. However, over 97% of the graduating students matriculate to college. Typically, over 60% of the graduates attend Christian colleges. Graduates are very successful in receiving admittance and scholarships to some of the best schools around the country.

The academic rigor at Calvin Christian helps students to be prepared for future success. Writing, problem solving, and critical thinking skills are emphasized. Students typically score higher on standardized tests than the national average.

In the spring teachers and the guidance counselor speak to students about course options for the following fall. Parents and students then review the course options and turn in their Course Selection Worksheets to the office.
