Dutch Festival

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me."
Psalm 51:10

Saturday, April 21, 2018

(gates open at 9:45 a.m.)

The story of the Dutch Festival begins with a group of Dutch immigrants in the late 1950’s. These families wanted to send their children to a school that would teach from a Christian perspective. They came together to build Calvin Christian School and on September 5, 1961, the doors opened to the first group of students. The Dutch Festival is a special way to celebrate and honor the heritage of those who built Calvin Christian School.

Each Dutch Festival has a fundraising purpose. This year, the festival has joined forces with the School and the ABC to raise funds to remodel the locker rooms and gym lobby.

What can you expect this year?
- Carnival Games
- Live and Silent Auctions
- Traditional Dutch Dances
- Pie Shop
- Dutch Import Shop
- Mother’s Day Table
- Homemade Oliebollen and Stroopwaffles
- Street Tacos and More!

If you would like to help in any way or donate an item for the Live or Silent Auction, please send an email to or call Cynthia Kiesel, Heidi Brouwer or Eve Mays (contact info available in school directory).
