SUPPORT US
Supporters of Calvin Christian School can help promote Calvin in a varity of ways: giving the Calvin marketing flyer to friends or neighbors you think might be interested, writing online reviews, contributing to facebook, reviewing the website, sharing photos from Calvin events...
Recently the Website Standardization Committee was formed to help ensure a consistent look is maintained throughout the site. To that end, some standards have been created. A few of them are listed below. If you have any comments about these standards, please contact Mark Steenstra.
WEBSITE DEFAULT SETTINGS
The original default text color for the website was gray. It looked like this. It was difficult to read so we changed it to dark blue (color code #000066). The rest of the text you see here, with the exceotion of the headings, is displayed using this default color.
The original text size was 11 pixels. This is an example of 11 pixel text. That was also difficult to read so we increased the size a small amount up to 12 pixels.
Heading 2 uses bold, 18 pixel, black text. This heading should be used at the top of any webpage that contains a lot of text. All the characters in the heading should be capitialized. Ideally, the name of the heading would match the navigation category for that page. For example, the "SUPPORT US" heading at the top of this page matches the Support Us navigation category that this page belongs to. It utilizes the Heading 2 formatting.
If there are additional headings used on a page, then those should use the Heading 3 format, which is bold, 14 pixels, black text. All the characters in this heading should also be capitalized. The "WEBSITE DEFAULT SETTINGS" heading above uses the Heading 3 format.
The other heading formats (1, 4, 5, and 6) should not be used.
The font type should be left as the default which is currently Arial, non-bold.
In general, all types of manual text formatting should be avoided. Rather, pages should use the default settings. Website editors are being asked to remove any non-default formatting, so with just some minor exceptions, all the pages of the website should be using the defaults listed above.
